Vigo Software inCab Solutions

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Vigo inCab Solutions is a real time web-based module allowing consignments to be traced, tracking right through the supply chain to the point of delivery. Jobs may be shown on an inCab device in their planned order. Simple buttons are finger depressed by the driver to indicate that they have arrived, completed the job and departed and a signature obtained.

Manifests are transmitted directly to the handheld unit and updated in real-time. A driver can select a current job, view detailed job information, review previous deliveries and continuously update the Haulier with job progress e.g. loading, loaded, and delivered. This progress is automatically transmitted back to the Vigo back office systems that updates the job/vehicle details. This 'real-time' data is seen in a variety of ways, thus providing traffic planners with the most up to date information

Direct capture of signatures is supported, with all information being transmitted back to the main system immediately, or if there is no GPRS signal, as soon as the equipment comes back into range. POD Signatures are available on a Vigo supplied website almost immediately. Simple buttons on the screen enable the driver to record his progress and obtain immediate Proof of Delivery.

Mark Jones, Palletline Manager of Hackling Transport says of the solution:

“We now see real cost savings and improved efficiency. Real time POD information gives the customer what they have always expected but never actually received. Now we can give our customers the information they need without the time consuming chain of telephone calls previously required. And we are now seeing major reductions in paper usage and telephone calls resulting in significant overall time and cost savings”
